Inspired to Serve
It is especially touching to me that William F. Buckley's passing should come while I was serving in Iraq. My being here is in great measure because of inspiration I received from his philosophy and vision of the God-given right to liberty, and the understanding of America's role in the world. It restored my confidence in America, delivered with clarity and sense of mission. One of his many life's works, National Review, has become an inspiring part of my life. I will sincerely miss his "On the Right" column, which was a warm and sensible review of the most important issues. Rest in peace, Mr. Buckley.
