A Compelling Conservative

I am certain that I speak for many others on the Liberal side of the political spectrum when I say that though I disagreed with Mr. Buckley frequently, I considered him a man of superior intellect, honesty and consistency. He articulated the conservative viewpoint compellingly and vigorously at all times, remaining steadfast to the end. It is no surprise to me that he was writing at the time of his death—even with his last breath, he was fighting the good fight to advance his point of view. We have lost a great contributor to the ongoing battle of ideas that makes our nation the greatest in the world. My condolences to all who knew and loved him. We will never see another like William F. Buckley, Jr.
